If verification fails, the user receives a clear explanation of the reason (expired ID, photo too blurry, selfie didn't match, etc.) and can re-attempt immediately. Common failure reasons include expired documents, poor lighting during photo capture, or obstructed text on the ID. Users get up to 3 attempts before needing to contact support.
Identity verification is valid for 12 months from the date of completion. After expiration, users will be prompted to re-verify. If a user's government ID expires before the 12-month mark, they'll need to re-verify with a current, valid document.
