Email & Notification FAQ

About notifications.

You can turn off most notifications, but emergency maintenance alerts always come through on all channels. This ensures critical issues are never missed.
We don't charge for SMS notifications. Your mobile carrier's standard messaging rates apply.
Currently, notification preferences apply globally. Property-specific notification settings are on our roadmap.
At a minimum, keep payment and maintenance alerts on. Payment alerts tell you when rent arrives or a payment fails, and maintenance alerts make sure urgent repairs are seen quickly. Message alerts help you reply to tenants and owners on time.
Use SMS for time-sensitive items you need to see right away, such as an urgent maintenance request. Use email for updates you want to keep as a record, such as payment confirmations and lease activity. Many landlords turn on both for payments.
Quiet hours pause non-emergency notifications during the times you choose, for example overnight from 10 PM to 7 AM. Emergency notifications still come through, so you can rest without missing a critical issue.
First check that the category is switched on for email in Settings → Notifications and that the email address on your account is correct. Then look in your spam or promotions folder, and add My Rental Spot to your contacts so future emails reach your inbox.
